German football legend Lothar Matthaus gave his opinion on Youssoufa Moukoko's situation, as his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in mid-2023. Moreover, the striker has attracted interest of some of the biggest clubs in the world, such as Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United, among others.
"I think Moukoko would be well advised to sign a long-term contract with Borussia Dortmund. He should first establish himself in the Bundesliga, then achieve international success with Dortmund in the Champions League and also develop further in the national team under Hansi Flick. He can still go to the Premier League when he’s 22, 23.
"Borussia Dortmund are one of the best clubs in Europe for young players. For that reason, I would be grateful if I was in his place. I would continue to give my all and then go on to the next adventure," he said.
It is uncertain what will happen with Moukoko's future but several clubs are keeping an eye on him. He will be a free agent from July next year if he does not renew with the German club.
