Portuguese Roma coach Jose Mourinho believes his side will be able to come back from 1-0 down on Dutch soil in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final against a Feyenoord side he acknowledged he respects.
"I have the utmost respect for Feyenoord, but I have full confidence in my players and my fans," he said at the press conference ahead of Thursday's decisive second leg at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Roma, as they did against Salzburg in the Round of 16, will have to come back from the first leg at home.
"We have to be patient, what counts is scoring two more goals than them. I don't know if we will win, but I know we have the team in good shape and we can count on a stadium that will support us," he said.
The coach appreciated the good moment of Spaniard Diego Llorente after his quick adaptation period. "Llorente has experience but he needed time to play with us, to learn to play our way. Right now he is playing with stability and is perfectly integrated, at the beginning our football was strange for him," he said.
