The 19-year-old midfielder has emerged as a crucial player in Benfica's midfield following Enzo Fernandez's £105 million transfer to Chelsea.
Manchester United has been monitoring the young midfielder, particularly after his impressive display in Benfica's 2-1 victory over Sporting CP. However, the Portuguese club released a statement denying rumours of his departure in the last transfer window.
The Red Devils will not give up so easily, especially in the coming months as the 19-year-old has not ruled out a possible move in the summer. "I can't promise that I will stay at Benfica next season. My wish for the moment is to stay and then we'll see," he said ahead of the Europa League match against Toulouse.
"I promise to do my best in every training session, in every game, and I think that is one of my greatest qualities. I'm focused on Benfica and even more so on [Thursday's] game, which is the next one. I think I will do my best in every game and in every training session," he concluded.
