Newcastle in talks to extend Guimaraes deal

Newcastle are waiting for the Champions League to start after reinforcing their squad in the summer transfer window. As of now, they are working on renewals.
The English side plan to renew Bruno Guimaraes' contract as soon as possible to keep him away from potential suitors who might try to tempt him.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian midfielder will extend his deal and have a salary increase signed in the next few days. His current contract was due to expire in June 2026. Negotiations between the two parties started several days ago and are already at an advanced level.
The 25-year-old has played 61 competitive matches for the Magpies, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists. Moreover, he has only been sent off once after receiving a red card against Southampton in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The Premier League club will face AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
