Ferran Torres finished the season with 11 goals and 3 assists, figures that have helped him to be on Newcastle's radar. The English side are looking to strengthen their attack and have set their sights on the ‘Cule’ winger.
‘Jijantes’ assures that Newcastle, in fact, have already made a move for Ferran Torres. The Magpies would have made a first offer to Barcelona, which would be 15 million fixed plus another 5 million in variables.
The proposal, taking into account that, at the time, the Catalan club paid 55 million fixed (plus as much in variables) to Manchester City, seems low enough for the board to give the go-ahead for the transfer.
Ferran Torres has a contract until 2027. This season he has not had as many minutes as he would have liked with Xavi at the helm, although he has been a great driving force.
The player has three seasons left on his contract and his buy-out clause is 1,000 million. The Magpies offer is on the table and it is not ruled out that the English club will raise the offer if the ‘Cules’ reject the initial proposal.
