Barcelona will be hoping to retain the Spanish Super Cup title against Real Madrid after beating Osasuna in the semi-finals. Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez appeared on 'Movistar+' and gave his first impressions on the matter.
"Live, it looked like a foul from Andreas, honestly, but in the replay you can see that there is nothing. The referee sometimes works to our advantage, sometimes to our disadvantage... I don't think it was decisive," he said about the origin of Lewandowski's 1-0 win. "I didn't have that feeling. I would have called the foul live, but not on replay," he added.
However, Xavi was not entirely convinced by the team's play: "We played well at times... today it was difficult. Congratulations to Osasuna. When Pedri came on, he made the game clearer, Lamine was good."
On Joao Felix's impact on the match: "He was very good, he came on very well, as did Lamine, Pedri... The changes have helped us and that's what they're there for. They have strengthened us. There are things to improve, but we are in a final".
Lastly, he assessed the final against Real Madrid: "I hope so, it's a final. Finals aren't played, they're won. We want to compete against an opponent who I saw very well yesterday. But there are no favourites, it's a 'Clasico'. Hopefully the final will go our way like last year. We're the reigning champions and at least we'll enjoy it".
