Nicolas Jackson has officially penned a two-year contract extension, which will see his stay at Stamford Bridge increase until 2033. The striker joined Chelsea in 2023 after a deal was agreed with Spanish side Villareal, who went on to receive 35m euros for the transfer.
The 23-year-old concluded his first season at the Bridge with 17 goals in all competitions. Said promising season has now handed him two more years at the club, after initially signing a eight-year deal in 2023.
"The first season for any player or any striker that comes to Chelsea is not easy, but I did okay," he said, speaking to the club's official website. "I am not very happy with 17 goals because I played the whole season without injuries, but it’s okay. I did good, now I hope to continue and do amazing. I am still in the learning process, learning every day, and trying to improve what I can do, and work on what I cannot do," he added.
‘The player further described how socialising and fostering relationships with his teammate was never an issue for him. "It was not hard to adapt to the club because I could speak English and I’m a social person,’ he adds. ‘It was easy to talk to everybody and get to know people. The only problem was the weather, but I got used to it! On the pitch I’m friends with everybody. It will always be like that. I hope this year together we will do more than last year and win something".
Jackson will now look to prepare for Chelsea's upcoming fixture in the Premier League against Bournemouth on Saturday.
