Juventus Turin's French international Paul Pogba has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for testosterone, the Italian Anti-Doping Agency (Nado) announced on Monday.
If the second test on his 'B' sample confirms the presence of testosterone metabolites, the Frenchman could face a four-year suspension.
When asked by 'RMC Sport' about the matter, his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, was keen to defend her client: "We're waiting for the counter-analyses and we can't have an opinion before the results. What is certain is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break any rules."
The 30-year-old had a nightmare last season both on and off the pitch. He picked up a string of injuries with Juventus, playing just 10 games in all competitions. Not to mention the attempted extortion by an organised group, in which one of his brothers, Mathias, is implicated.
