Madrid have already chosen their first reinforcement for next season. The open secret is confirmed and Fran Garcia will be part of the 'Merengues' in a few months.
"Fran Garcia will go to Real Madrid at the end of this season. We have reached an agreement," admitted Rayo president Raul Martin Presa on 'El Partidazo de COPE'.
According to the president, Real Madrid prevented the player from leaving for the Bundesliga: "They have prevented Fran Garcia from going to Bayer Leverkusen, obviously because it is in their interest. They believe he is a player who can give them a lot.
Martin Presa praised Madrid's behaviour when it came to negotiating. "They have behaved like a gentleman club, it has to be said. They could have taken him now because of Mendy's absence. By waiting, they have prevented him from going to Bayer Leverkusen. I think they are right to sign him because he is a player who is growing.
Madrid could have exercised their right to recover Fran García by paying five million, but did not do so, according to the Rayo president, "out of respect" for his club. "They have behaved like gentlemen for not harming us, we have to thank them for that," he said.
