Real Madrid landed in the Spanish capital on Wednesday morning after their pre-season tour of North America, in which they played three games with two defeats - against Milan and Barcelona, and a win - against Chelsea, before completing the journey home to focus on the European Super Cup.
The win against Chelsea with goals from Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz capped Real Madrid's pre-season tour with 14 first-team players and a large group of academy players making up for the seven absentees on leave after playing Euro 2024 and Copa America, plus the injury-enforced absence of David Alaba.
Games in Chicago, New Jersey and Charlotte have shaped the tour before the Real Madrid squad returned by charter flight after their final game, lasting around eight hours, which touched down at Madrid airport at 12.30 CEST.
The Real Madrid players who have taken part in the tour will rest for the rest of Wednesday and will resume training on Thursday.
On Wednesday afternoon, the seven players finishing their holidays, namely Kylian Mbappe, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Fede Valverde and Jude Bellingham, will train from 18.00 CEST.
The aim is to be in peak physical condition for Wednesday 14 August, the day Real Madrid take on Atalanta for the first title of the season.
