Riyadh Air Metropolitano - Atletico Madrid's stadium is getting a new name

When the 'Colchoneros' had already forgotten about Wanda and had learned the name Civitas, now it's their turn to give their stadium a new name. Quite a bit longer, by the way, although this one promises to stay for a long time. Atletico Madrid have signed with Riyadh Air, their main sponsor, on Thursday, to become part of the Metropolitano's naming.
The Saudi Arabian airline will sponsor the 'Colchoneros' home for the next nine seasons, until 2033. Thus, its name will be Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium. The agreement is being implemented as of now, so that the operators will begin work during the national team break to update the signage, which will be unveiled on October 20th against Leganes.
Riyadh Air began working with Atletico Madrid in August 2023 and since then it has been the main sponsor on the chest of their shirts. According to 'Expansion', the airlines will pay 250 million euros fixed that could go up to 300 million euros with bonuses for the total contract, so that the agreement is around 30 million euros for each season.
