Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal edged a 3-2 thriller against Slovakia in Porto on Friday to book their place at Euro 2024. The Al-Nassr striker scored a first-half penalty and a second half tap-in as the Portuguese made it seven wins from seven matches in Group J.
The former Manchester United forward spoke to the press about his condition after scoring the double. "I am enjoying the moment, which is good, I feel good, my body is responding to what I have given it in recent years. I am happy both in the national team and at club level," he said.
"On a personal level, I am very happy with what I have done. Now we have to keep going, we have a few more games. The team has been very good," he added.
The 38-year-old was challenged by Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa to score 1,000 goals before he retires. However, Ronaldo said his target is to net 900 goals before hanging up his boots. The Portuguese has already scored 876 in his professional football career.
