Despite a tricky opening to Al-Nassr's pre-season, Cristiano Ronaldo remains optimistic about his team winning trophies in 2023-24. Citing the teams' facelift with new players and a new manager, the Portuguese star feels his team is ready to challenge for titles.

It hasn't been the most promising looking pre-season for Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr. Their two opening friendlies against La Liga side, Celta Vigo and Portuguese champions, Benfica have both resulted in hammerings for the Saudi side. Ronaldo didn't score in either game, as the Spaniards dominated 5-0 and Benfica thrashed them 4-1.
Despite this tricky start however, CR7's confidence remains unshaken, and he has declared that they "hope to win all the trophies" in the coming season, even though he admits it will "be very difficult". They do have some changes on their side however, says the Portuguese star.
"I think we have a good team, we have a new coach, we have new players, the ambitions are ... the same as last year", he declared. "We're looking forward to an amazing season and of course I want to win a few trophies this year".
The new manager he refers to is Luis Castro, who arrived in July from Brazilian side Botafogo, after two seasons with the club.
Al-Nassr, as one of the clubs backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, has been making some big summer transfers, including the signings of Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan, Seko Fofana from Lens, and most recently, Alex Telles from Manchester United.
Despite spending over €50 million on transfers this summer, it remains to be seen if they can manage a turn around in form, as their next two pre-season games come against Ligue 1 champions, PSG, and Champions League finalists, Inter, two sides which should provide an even tougher challenge than their first two opponents this summer.
