Ronaldo up and running: 45th goal of the year

Cristiano Ronaldo continued his hot streak with another goal in the Saudi Arabian League on matchday 13 as his Al Nassr side beat Al Wehda 3-1 to continue their pursuit of Neymar's Al Hilal at the top of the table.
The Portuguese star scored his side's third goal, early in the second half, when he capitalised on a defensive mistake, a mis-headed pass from the centre-back to his goalkeeper, to get on the scoresheet again.
It was his 45th goal of 2023. He is just 136 away from 1,000 official goals. He scored Al Nassr's third. By that time his side were already on course for the match with goals from Brazilian Alex Telles after 11 minutes and Abdulelah Al Amri, on a pass from Croatian Marcelo Brozovic. Al Nassr are the only side chasing Al Hilal's lead, with four points separating them.
The former Madrid player scored his side's 13th in the competition in which he is top scorer, while Al Wehda, through Brazilian Anselmo, made it 1-3 in the 81st minute.
