More problems for Real Madrid in the centre of defence. Carlo Ancelotti's team, who have been on their toes in this position since Militao's serious injury, confirmed this morning that Antonio Rudiger, who has been out with a limp since the match against Getafe, is injured. After carrying out tests on the German's injured area, Real Madrid have issued a medical report.
"Following tests carried out today on our player Antonio Rudiger by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the vastus lateralis of the left thigh. His progress is pending", published by the white team on their website. He is therefore ruled out of Saturday's game against Girona.
It was already predicted that the problem the German suffered against Getafe might not stop there, as he did not even take part in the derby against Atletico Madrid. His absence makes the situation that Carlo Ancelotti is facing with the lack of defensive personnel even worse.
The injury, although minor, will keep Rudiger out of action for the next two weeks, as journalist Arancha Rodriguez has reported on the matter. With the schedule in hand and taking into account that range of time, the German will miss the games against Girona, RB Leipzig, Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla.
