A few days after Real Madrid were named champions of the Club World Cup in Rabat, FIFA have taken the choice for Saudi Arabia to host the next edition of the tournament.
You mustn't forget that Al Hilal made history by getting to the final, as it was the first time a Saudi side had done so. It's a bit of news which the Saudi Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal has welcomed.
"We feel honoured and extremely excited to have the chance to welcome the main club teams and their fans to Saudi Arabia. Many fans will have recently seen our ability as a nation to compete at the highest level on the pitch, We now have the chance to show that we're also world-class fans. We hope to show off our love for the game and our desire to be a force for good", he claimed.
Therefore, the next Club World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia from the 12th to the 22nd December 2023. It'll be penultimate tournament with this format, as for 2025 it will change and there'll be 32 participants, taking place every four years.
