Second round for Olise and Robert Sanchez at Chelsea

The first market reports concerning Chelsea after the hiring of Enzo Maresca as new manager are about Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and Robert Sanchez, goalkeeper signed last summer from Brighton & Hove Albion. Fabrizio Romano says there will be a fresh bid for the Eagles player, and that the keeper will be considered in the race for the starting line-up.

Last summer, Chelsea tried to sign Michael Olise. His response left little room for doubt: he renewed his contract with Crystal Palace until 2027. His manager boasted that it was the player himself who had proposed it. Far from taking this refusal badly, the ‘Blues’ offices will get back in touch with those of the ‘Eagles’ over the same issue.
At least, that is what Fabrizio Romano has reported on his social media. The Italian journalist claims that scouting reports from Stamford Bridge hold the young Frenchman, who has just made the squad for the Paris Olympics, in high regard. At club level, he tends to generate a lot of expectation from his fans when he takes the field alongside Eberechi Eze, although the duo have hardly had time together on the pitch this term.
Nor has there been much room in Mauricio Pochetino's line-ups for Robert Sanchez. Injury kept him out of a starting line-up for which he seemed to have been paid close to 30 million euros to Brighton & Hove Albion for his transfer. An in-form Dorde Petrovic deprived him of a standing start, but the source mentioned in the previous paragraph has good news for him.
The coaching staff of Enzo Maresca, recently signed from Chelsea, are keen to give him another chance. The presence of Ben Roberts as goalkeeping boss is key in this respect. There has already been a conversation with the board to inform them that the Spanish goalkeeper is available, so there should not be any exit these months, but a prelude to another ‘round’, like that of Olise, to be important in the ‘Blue’ squad.
