Sevilla won their seventh Europa League title last Wednesday at the Puskas Arena after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Jose Mourinho's Roma. But the Andalusian team's season is not over yet.
Mendilibar's side face Real Sociedad on Sunday in their final La Liga fixture of the season. The Spanish manager held a press conference on Saturday to talk about his expectations for the game at the Reale Arena.
He was asked about their recent European title and whether they expect the home team to pay tribute to them: "I don't know. I think that's Real Sociedad's decision. If they don't do it, I don't think it's wrong because that's what they've decided.
"If they want to pay tribute to us that would be wonderful but we are not thinking about that. I would like to win there even though I know we are not in our best form," he concluded.
Nemanja Gudelj and Marcao Teixeira could be unavailable for Sevilla's final game of the season due to injury. Nevertheless, Mendilibar has called up the Serbian for the trip to northern Spain.
