After being caught treating himself to a cigarette, Barcelona's new goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has decided to address the situation in an internview with Spanish outlet 'Mundo Deportivo'.
The Polish international has admitted that he occasionally smokes, but assured that the habit does not affect his performance on the football pitch as a goalkeeper, stating that he works "twice as hard" to make up for it.
"There are aspects of my personal life that I don't change," he revealed, as he insisted that he is not interested in hearing people's opinions on how he should carry himself. “If anyone thinks they can change my personal life, try again, it has never worked!" he said, emphasising that he owes no explaination to anyone.
Szczesny then concluded by saying: "It's nobody's business if I smoke," and specifically requested to be judged solely based on his performance on the field instead of "looking for stories that really don’t matter to anyone."
