Sporting CP have said a public farewell to Antonio Adan, whose contract expires on 30 June. Had he taken the field a couple more times this season, he would have been automatically renewed but was not seen in action again due to an injury suffered in March. It is not known whether he will opt to retire or look for another destination.

Sporting Lisbon have bid farewell to Spanish goalkeeper Antonio Adan with several messages of thanks on their social networks, in which they remember the four years in which the Spanish goalkeeper has defended the Lisbon goal.
"Forever engraved in our history," reads one of Sporting's messages, accompanied by a photo of Adan posing with some of the titles he has won in a Sporting shirt, including two league titles, two League Cups and a Super Cup.
Antonio Adan's contract with the Portuguese club expires on 30 June and he was on the verge of renewal because he was injured last March and, if he had played two more games, he would have automatically renewed for another season.
However, Sporting coach Ruben Amorim announced at a press conference that the club would not renew the 37-year-old Spanish goalkeeper.
Adan joined Sporting in the summer of 2020 and was a first-team regular from the outset. The Real Madrid-trained player, where he even played for the first team, has also spent time in Serie A (Cagliari), played for Real Betis between 2014 and 2018 and played for Atletico Madrid (2018-2020).
For the moment, Adan has not given any clues as to what his future will be.
