Barcelona, who are in fourth place after a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga, are preparing for their next Champions League match against Porto.
German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is likely to miss his team's next European match as he missed the last one in domestic competition due to back pain suffered in international duty with his national team.
According to Spanish outlet 'Mundo Deportivo', the 31-year-old took part in Sunday's training session but was unable to train with his teammates on Monday. His condition is worsening despite showing signs of improvement.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is expected to talk about the German's condition at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Champions League encounter. Ter Stegen is almost ruled out but it won't be until Tuesday before we know if he is fit enough to help his team.
