Manchester City broke out in a cold sweat as they edged past Bournemouth 1-0 in the Premier League. After the final whistle, Pep Guardiola reflected his indignation in the press room when analysing his team's calendar.
The Sky Blues visit Luton Town this Tuesday (21:00) in the last 16 of the FA Cup. Before hosting Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium, they will play their third game in seven days, something the Catalan is not happy about.
"Thank you so much for the calendar. It's too much. Absolutely. But the business must go on," he said in an ironic tone. Despite this, Pep Guardiola gave credit to the professionalism and aptitude of his players.
"I adore my players. They are supermen. Playing every three days. When people say 'can you play the same conditions in the PL?' No. We play more games than everyone else. They surprise me every time, the character, competitive when they are tired. Winning 0-5 is not a reality. Hopefully we can have a week off soon to rest the legs,"
