The Champions League's biggest spenders this summer

Paris Saint-Germain and their unbridled ambition to win their first UCL trophy, with an outlay of 345.5 million euros plus the 65 million euros to be paid for Goncalo Ramos as soon as the purchase option becomes effective, followed by the 239.1 million euros spent by reigning champions Manchester City, accounted for 16% of the transfer investment of the 32 Champions League teams in the summer transfer window, 2,417 million euros.
Arsenal (234.94 million), Manchester United (206.7), RB Leipzig (157), Bayern Munich (155), Newcastle (145.2), Real Madrid (128.5), AC Milan (112.5) and Napoli (85) complete the Champions League top 10 in terms of sums paid, according to data from the specialist platform BeSoccer Pro, to strengthen their already strong squads to dominate their countries, but also Europe's top competition.
Nobody has paid as much as PSG. Their new project is led by Luis Enrique Martinez, who has already won the Champions League, in 2015 when he was in charge of Barcelona. PSG have not yet done so. The last two editions, the French champions went no further than the last 16. In the previous one, they reached the semi-finals. Their only final was in 2020, a 1-0 defeat by Bayern in Lisbon. So close then, so far away for now.
His investment is unrivalled. It is 345.5 million euros, which becomes 410.5 million euros when taking into account the at least 65 million euros of the purchase option (there is an additional 15 million euros in bonuses depending on the objectives) that Goncalo Ramos has on loan for this year from Benfica. It can be activated by either club, as the Portuguese club told the Portuguese Securities Market Commission.
Apart from keeping Kylian Mbappe, PSG have strengthened their squad with Kolo Muani, for 95 million euros, Manuel Ugarte, for 60 million euros, Ousmane Dembele, for 50 million euros, Lucas Hernandez, for 45 million euros, Bradley Barcola, for 45 million euros, and Kang-In Lee, for 22 million euros, apart from buying Hugo Ekitike, landing Goncalo Ramos on loan with a compulsory purchase option and landing Marco Asensio as a free agent; Bradley Barcola, for 45, and Kang-In Lee, for 22, among other operations this summer for the Parisian club, which is in the most demanding group of the tournament, along with Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund, Milan and Newcastle.
They are followed by reigning champions Manchester City, who have spent 239.1 million euros on four new signings: the most expensive centre-back in history, Josko Gvardiol, for 90 million euros from RB Leipzig; Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes, for 60 million euros each; and Mateo Kovacic, for 29.1 million euros, and 112.5 million euros in transfers to other clubs.
