Jude Bellingham received the Golden Boy award from 'Tuttosport' as the best young footballer in the world. The Real Madrid midfielder pointed to Carlo Ancelotti as the key to his success.
"I put my effort into getting better, but the credit goes to Ancelotti, who found the right position for me and gave me more freedom on the pitch," Bellingham told 'Tuttosport'.
The Englishman considers himself to be "a competitive and ambitious person" and therefore aims for bigger trophies, as he will not be able to retain the Golden Boy due to age next year: "I hope this award will be a springboard to win many other trophies.
Bellingham won the Golden Boy by the biggest margin in the history of the trophy: "It's fantastic, an extraordinary score. I'm happy and obviously I thank the members of the jury who voted for me.
"There are many people at Madrid who are happy about this, including the president. But above all, I'm proud of myself. The Golden Boy is a wonderful award," said the Briton.
Finally, Bellingham said he is "disappointing" Ancelotti in one respect: "I still don't speak Spanish. I'm sorry, but I'm encountering unexpected obstacles with the language".
