England are going through a crisis that we will see when they emerge from it. The Three Lions, who lost their second successive European Championship final last summer, suffered a painful defeat to Greece at Wembley on Thursday.
Interim coach Lee Carsley is on the hot seat and the FA, according to German TV station WELT, is in talks with Thomas Tuchel to take over the national team.
The German coach has been without a team since 1 July 2024, when his contract with Bayern Munich came to an end, and if Tuchel's appointment is confirmed, it is likely that a deal can be reached in the near future.
The German could be the third foreign coach to take charge of the English national team. Previously Sven-Goran Eriksson (2000-2006) and Fabio Capello (2008-2012).
