Atletico Madrid managed to claim an important victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund at the Civitas Metropolitano, extending the 'Colchoneros' unbeaten home record in the knockout rounds of the European competition since Simeone arrived at the club in the 2011/12 season.
The 'Colchoneros' came out all guns blazing in the first half and managed to take advantage of the German club's slack defence to take a two-goal lead, a blow to the morale of Edin Terzic's side, who managed to pull one back through Haller in the second half.
