Brazil announced his call-up for their South American World Cup qualifiers.
For the first time in his professional career, Joao Pedro has been called up to the Brazil squad. The Brighton striker has made an excellent start to the season with Brighton, having played 16 official matches, eight of them as a starter, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
Fernando Diniz's side face Colombia on 17 November and World Cup champions Argentina on 22 November. The Brazilians sit third in the table with seven points, tied with Uruguay and five points behind the 'Albiceleste'.
