Liverpool have picked up their second successive win this pre-season after they did not get off to the best possible start with a narrow defeat at Preston North End. The Reds did manage a narrow win over Real Betis thanks to Szoboszlai's goal and recently defeated Arsenal in Philadelphia.
Arne Slot's side beat the Gunners with first-half goals from Salah and Fabio Carvalho, who were assisted both by Harvey Elliott. Although Kai Havertz pulled one back before the break, a goalless second half saw Arteta's side fail to equalise.
The Egyptian opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 13th minute, outpacing the defenders to latch onto Harvey Elliott's defence-splitting pass. Carvalho doubled Liverpool's lead in the 34th minute. The 21-year-old Portuguese winger ran onto a perfectly lofted Elliott pass into the box and fired home a crisp right-foot volley through Hein's legs.
