Slovakia captain Milan Skriniar became Paris Saint Germain's first signing of the summer on Thursday, joining on a free transfer a year after the French champions declined to pay Inter Milan 70 million euros.
He is the latest manager to be handed the task of delivering the Champions League trophy that has eluded the Qatari owners since they bought the club in 2011. Skriniar, who has signed a five-year contract, had been a top target of Luis Enrique's predecessor Christophe Galtier.
"I feel happy to be part of this wonderful club, one of the strongest clubs in the world with world-class players and fantastic fans. So I feel really good and I'm really happy," he said in his first interview for the French club.
"I feel little pressure because it's not easy, of course, to play in PSG. So I feel little pressure, but I know and I feel that I am ready to be here, to be part of this wonderful team. And I like the pressure because I'm a defender. So you always have to be ready," he concluded.
