Barcelona were knocked out of the Copa del Rey after being defeated by Athletic Bilbao in a hard-fought match that went to extra time (4-2). The 'Cules' were hit hard when Guruzeta gave the home side the lead just 30 seconds into the game.
However, the Catalan side came back thanks to Lewandowski's equaliser and Lamine Yamal, who put his side ahead with a clinical shot from the edge of the box. Ernesto Valverde's side restored parity through Sancer early in the second half.
The game went into extra time and Xavi Hernandez decided to bring on Sergi Roberto and young striker Marc Guiu to try and claim victory. The Catalan coach was asked at the press conference why Vitor Roque, who has recently arrived as a star signing for the Catalan giants but has hardly had any playing time, did not play.
"Vitor Roque is very young, but yesterday we wanted to play Marc Guiu. Both of them will be alternating. Vitor Roque will be important too, he's very young," responded Xavi.
