Rodri and Kyle Walker, Manchester City team-mates, will meet in the final of Euro 2024 between Spain and England. The full-back spoke to the BBC and warned the midfielder.
"It's going to be a dog-eat-dog situation, it's a battle royale. For a while, we will be enemies. Once the game is over, whoever wins, I will have respect for Rodri as a teammate and shake his hand. From there, we'll move on," he said.
Elsewhere, on his duel against Nico Williams on the wing, he said: "I saw him run the other day and I've never seen anyone run so fast. I'll have to give him the respect I give every player, but I hope he'll give it to me too. It will be a good test."
As for his desire to win the European Championship, he said: "I've already told Kane I'd risk swapping up to 10 of the trophies I've won with Man City to be England champion."
Walker has started every game for England and has also played every minute. In the final, he will be tasked with trying to stop Nico Williams as he did with Vinicius Jr in the Madrid-City duels.
