Spain captain Alvaro Morata was hopeful ahead of the European Championship in Germany, confident of Spain's chances of winning "and making history".
"As captain I want to tell them that they have to be at ease, but that we are focused on winning. We can win a European Championship and make history," he said.
In a video recorded for the Spanish federation's media, Morata shows how he says goodbye to his family and nervously heads to the training camp that Spain started on Saturday.
"We make a great team," he said of his family. "The children make me stronger every day to fight and to make them proud of their father. I just want my wife and children to be proud of me. It's a triumph in life," he added.
"It's an incredible emotion to be on my way to the Federation as if it were the first time. This time I get to be captain and I remember all the times I've come to the national team, to the youth teams, all the teammates and coaches I've had. It's incredible," he said.
Morata will be the first captain at the big event in Germany, taking on extra responsibility in the dressing room. "I don't want to think about it too much, I'll try to help everyone and make them see that everything stops, no matter how you get there, those who are in the same position will never live a situation like this again," he said.
