Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham said it was a “very weird” game because they played “the best football of the season” and they were still trailing. Bellingham capped 'Los Blancos' comeback (2-3) to secure their first win at the Etihad Stadium and take advantage ahead of the second leg in this Champions League play-off.
“It was a very weird game. We played the best football of the season and we were still trailing. I think we played very well and created a lot of chances. We always kept the confidence that we would score. I don't care how City are doing because they are still an incredible team. It's always difficult to play against them and, in the end, we took our chances,” Bellingham said on ‘Amazon Prime’.
In addition, the England midfielder said he did not hit the celebration he had agreed with Micah Richards as he felt the time and place would make it “disrespectful”.
He also spoke on 'CBS Sports'. “It's always good to get home advantage and I'm sure the Bernabeu will respond. There are ups and downs in these matches. We deserved to win,” he sentenced.
