Inter's Federico Dimarco said on Tuesday, on the eve of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid, that he knows "the strength and history" of the 'Colchonero' side, but played down the influence of the atmosphere at the Estadio Civitas Metropolitano.
"We know the strength of Atletico Madrid. They are a powerful team. We know their history in the Champions League. We're going to go out and play our game, like we did in the first leg. We are ready. The atmosphere here will be the same as it was for us at the San Siro. We know that they are a strong team and that their fans cheer a lot," he told the press conference.
"It will be a difficult game, like all Champions League games. We have a slender lead. That counts for little in this competition. We have to make no mistake in our approach to Wednesday's game," warned the left back, "very happy" with his personal performance and his contribution to the team, the undisputed leaders of Serie A, 16 points clear of Juventus already.
"We are doing something extraordinary. Let's hope we can continue it in the Champions League. Yes there is the desire to go all the way to the final, but what we are doing in Serie A stays in Serie A. In the Champions League we start from scratch," he added.
