Wirtz on his future and Xabi Alonso: "I don't link my path with his"

We are practically in the run-up to the final stretch of the season and Bayer Leverkusen are in an unbeatable position. Xabi Alonso's side are top of the Bundesliga, semi-finalists in the Cup and quarter-finalists in the Europa League, so the possibility of achieving the treble is there.
Florian Wirtz, one of the stars of the German team, spoke to 'Der Spiegel' and openly assured, about his future, that his decision to continue in the German discipline will not depend on the permanence of the Spanish coach in the institution: "I don't link my path with his".
"I don't know what Xabi Alonso will do, but my plan is clear. Of course, we decide our future independently of each other. It's very important for me to have such a good relationship with him. I'm now focused on the national team and then I have a lot of plans with Bayer Leverkusen," he added.
The German international has made 36 appearances to date, 31 of them starts, in which he has scored 11 goals and provided 17 assists. This season he has really exploded and his name is on the agenda of top clubs in European football.
