Real Madrid will be without two players for the Madrid derby against Atletico and the first leg of the Copa del Rey 'Clasico' against Barcelona. The club confirmed on Thursday that both David Alaba and Rodrygo Goes are injured and, in the case of the Austrian, for several weeks.
The former Bayern Munich man is expected to miss a month, according to 'COPE'. Against Liverpool, he had to be substituted in the first half due to "a muscular injury in the distal third of the right femoral biceps". According to the club, he is "pending further developments".
As for Rodrygo, the Brazilian, who left Anfield in the second half with some discomfort, has an injury to his gluteus muscle. "He has been diagnosed with an injury to the left piriformis muscle," the club said.
Both players completed a range of different trainings inside the facilities, as did Benjamin Mendy. All three are ruled out of the Madrid derby against Atletico next Saturday, as well as the 'Clásico' against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey on Thursday 2nd March.
