Real Valladolid are close to completing a long-awaited signing for their goalkeeper after the departure of Jordi Masip. The Blanquivioletas could close the loan of Arsenal's Estonian goalkeeper Karl Hein in the next few hours.
The Gunner youth player, who has been a protagonist in Mikel Arteta's schemes this preseason and has 31 international caps for his country despite having little professional experience, would arrive on loan and Valladolid would be responsible for his fee.
This was reported by Richard Cawley of the South London Press, who in recent days had linked the player with Charlton. Fabrizio Romano gave credibility to the information and the move could be completed in the next few hours. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has been with Arsenal since 2018, but has only played one official game as a Gunner, conceding three goals.
His only loan spell in 2021-22, at Reading, he only played 5 games in the Championship, conceding 8 goals. This would be the first major international experience for a goalkeeper who, despite lacking minutes at club level, has maintained his place in the starting line-up for the Estonian national team.
