After not signing any players in the January transfer winsow, Barcelona have now got their eyes on the January transfer window. The La Liga side are looking at players who are coming towards the end of their contract or who are really cheap.
Due to the salary cap, Barca will not be able to spend large amounts of money and they are now thinking of some targets such as Marcus Thuram. The French striker's contract at Borussia Monchengladbach expires in June.
According to 'Sport', Barcelona are following the footballer very closely as well as his contractual situation. The Frenchman is 25 years old and he is being key to his team with 10 goals and three assists in 18 Bundesliga matches so far.
He also scored three goals and got an assist in the German Cup. The striker is sought after by other top European clubs such as Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, who joined the bidding war recently.
Marcus' father Lilian played for Barca between 2006 and 2008 and that could work in their favour. Marcus Thuram was also selected by Deschamps for the World Cup in Qatar.
