Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez said ahead of the Blues' Premier League clash with Everton on Monday that his side have yet to see the best version of themselves, which he showed at the Qatar 2022 World Cup he won with Argentina.

Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Benfica in a huge €121 million transfer after the Argentine midfielder attracted the attention of Europe's giant clubs thanks to his impressive performances for Argentina at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The 'Albiceleste' were crowned champions after beating France on penalties in the final and Enzo Fernandez won the 2022 World Cup Young Player award. One of the clubs interested in the promising midfielder were the Blues, who decided to break the bank to sign him.
However, and despite the fact that over the years the former Benfica man has become one of the leaders of a poor Chelsea side, many feel that he has not yet lived up to the expectations of a 121 million euro signing. In fact, Enzo Fernandez himself agrees with those who feel he has not yet been at his best.
"I love being at Chelsea and this club has still not seen the real, the best Enzo yet. I’m working hard to get there, to the version of me that you saw at the World Cup. I still don’t feel 100% at that level, but I’m doing my best for it. It will happen," he told reporters.
