Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is reportedly set to reject a move to join Bayern Munich and instead accept a deal to join Real Madrid to replace the injured Thibault Courtois, who will miss the whole season. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the German champions have been informed of his decision.

According to 'Sky Germany' journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea are about to lose their goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga to Real Madrid. The Spaniard had previously been linked with a move to join Bayern Munich on loan, but now he is set to reject them.
The 28-year-old would join 'Los Blancos' to replace injured starting keeper Thibault Courtois, who will miss all of the 2023-24 season after he ruptured his ACL on Thursday. Bayern are hunting for a goalie after Manuel Neuer broke his leg in a skiing accident, and it was reported that they were exploring a loan deal with the option to buy.
Plettenberg writes that the Bundesliga side have been "informed" of the keeper's decision, who was one of several names on Madrid's shortlist of replacements, which also included free agent David de Gea, Sevilla's Yassine Bounou and Leeds United's Messlier.
The Blues will have options if Kepa joins the Spanish side, following the signing of Brighton's keeper Robert Sanchez earlier in August, but it's likely that manager Mauricio Pochettino would look to boost his ranks with another backup for the season.
