Bayern Munich saw Robert Lewandowski leave the club this summer. Harry Kane was reported to be the priority signing for next season. However, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been renewed for another year.
The Bavarian club made official the renewal of the Cameroonian striker's contract until June 2024. "I'm very happy to stay longer and continue to have a lot of fun with the club," said the player.
"I feel very much at home here, my family also feels at home in Munich, which is a very important point for me," he added.
The German club are also very satisfied with this agreement. "We are very happy that Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting will stay with us for another year. Choupo is an artist with the ball, he has performed very well in recent years. In the first half of this season, he helped us fill the gap we had in the striker position," said Hasan Salihamidzic, Bavarian sporting director.
"He has done very well and has confirmed his performances in this year's games. We are happy to have him and to work with him until the summer of 2024," he said.
