Eric Garcia is one of the leaders of the Spanish Olympic football team. Paris 2024 is his second Olympic Games. And after winning silver at Tokyo 2020, he hopes that the current generation can "follow in the footsteps of Spain", who won Euro 2024 on 14 July.
"In the end we all know that criticism is part of this world. Pau [Cubarsi] is a very young kid, who this year has already shown at the elite level what he is capable of at a very young age," he said, defending his Barcelona teammate.
"The game the other day, I think in general it was a normal game for everyone, I don't think you have to single anyone out. In the end the card conditions you, as it does with any player.
"But he's a lad who has shown plenty and has been on the verge of going to the European Championship, so there's not much more to say," he concluded.
