PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma confirmed after the 3-1 win over Lens that Kylian Mbappe will stay at the club this season. It was all but confirmed after his return with the first team, even if he was sidelined for around a week because of his refusal to renew his contract. This last issue, that of his possible extension, is still up in the air.

Kylian Mbappe scored a brace in PSG's win over Lens at the weekend. Gianluigi Donnarumma started in goal in this first win of the 'Luis Enrique era', so he was one of the players to speak to the media after the game. Asked directly if the striker is staying this season, the goalkeeper said that "for sure".
Over the past few days, the feeling was that this would be the case, with the former Monaco man having returned to business as usual after around a week on the sidelines following his refusal to renew his contract at the Parc des Princes. It remains to be seen whether, over the course of the campaign, the French side will negotiate an extension to his stay in the club or reach a different kind of agreement that satisfies both parties.
At Real Madrid, the main candidates for signing him, the season will start with a change in Carlo Ancelotti's style of play and the lack of a centre-forward to complement Joselu Mato's profile, who does not seem to be enough to compete for a regular starting place, at least for the time being. So far, his coach has started Vinicius and Rodrygo.
PSG have done well to have solved the Kylian Mbappe crisis, as he is one of the leaders of the squad and the main man called upon to make the difference in the big games this year. In fact, he has scored in six consecutive matches since the last matchday of last season in Ligue 1, against Clermont, until the win against Lens on the third matchday of this new season with Luis Enrique at the helm.
