Ecuador international Marco Angulo passes away at 22 after car crash
After 39 days in hospital, Liga de Quito have confirmed the death of Ecuador international Marco Angulo, who was involved in a serious car accident on 7th October.

Liga de Quito's Ecuadorian player Marco Angulo, who was involved in a serious car accident 39 days ago, died early this morning, according to his club and the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF),
The 22-year-old international spent more than a month in hospital in the Ecuadorian capital with a guarded prognosis until his tragic death today, following injuries sustained in the early hours of 7th October after a high-speed collision with workers' fences on a Quito highway.
Angulo and four other people were travelling in the vehicle. With the death of the international, three people died in the accident: Roberto Cabezas Simisterra, a full-back for Independiente Juniors, and Víctor Charcopa Nazareno.
Both the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) and his club, Liga de Quito, have published a statement on their social networks, expressing their "deepest sorrow" and "profound pain and sadness " at the tragic news:
"We regret to inform of the passing of our beloved player Marco Angulo. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. His departure is an irreparable loss that will leave an indelible mark on our hearts," said the Ecuadorian club.
"We join in solidarity with his family, teammates and loved ones, wishing them strength at this difficult time," added the Ecuadorian Football Federation.
