UEFA's Executive Committee decided on Wednesday to move the host for the next European Super Cup, taking it away from Kazan in Russia, and giving it to Athens in Greece, where it will be played on the 16th August at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium. Kick-off will be at 21:00 HEC.
This move comes after a plethora of other organisations have decided to strip Russia of sporting events, such as FIFA did for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
UEFA confirmed the agreements made in their first meeting of the year, when they also designated the Slovakian Football Federation as responsible for hosting the final of the U21 EUROs in 2025.
