Kylian Mbappe was spotted clubbing in Stockholm on Friday while his national team were taking on Israel in the Nations League. The forward, who was not called up by France boss Didier Deschamps due to fitness concerns, decided to treat himself on a night out at the V club in Stureplan, but following photographs released by Swedish outlet 'Sport Bladet', the situation quickly turned into a media scandal.
Cheslea star Wesley Fofana was asked to give his input on the situation in a press conference ahead of France's clash against Belgium on Monday. "Everyone does what they want with their free time," the defender responded with a smile on his face. "He does what he wants, he's a big guy."
Fofana further aimed a dig at the journalists for bringing up the topic, insisting that media talk made an issue out of nothing. "Personally, I think you guys [media] do a bit too much sometimes," he said. "If you really want to know more, you should ask Mbappe," he concluded.
After thrashing Israel 1-4 at Budapest, France travel to Bruxelles to face Belgium in the final game of the October international break. Fofana did not manage to get any minutes during the Friday fixture and saw himself witness the entire game from the bench.
