Andre Breitenreiter is no longer coach of Hoffenheim. The German club decided to sack their coach after a painful and heavy 5-2 defeat by VfL Bochum, a result that leaves the team in fourteenth place in the Bundesliga with 19 points, just three above the dangerous relegation places.
The 49-year-old German coach's contract was due to expire in the summer of 2024, but Hoffenheim decided to bring forward his departure due to the team's poor results throughout the season.
Through their official channels, the German club announced the departure of Breitenreiter, who had won the Swiss championship with FC Zurich, but who has not been able to find success on German soil.
Hoffenheim have not won since October and are on a run of seven defeats and two draws in the German Bundesliga, having been eliminated in the DFB Pokal round of 16 by RB Leipzig 3-1.
