Former Betis player Luiz Henrique, now with Botafogo, said it was "a dream come true" to be able to play alongside Vinicius in the Brazilian national team.

Luiz Henrique said Wednesday that it is “a dream” come true to be able to share dressing room with Vinicius in the Brazilian national team, which is preparing to play Ecuador on Friday in the South American qualifiers.
“I was really looking forward to meeting Vinicius personally. I saw him a few times, I played against him when he was at Betis, but I wanted to play alongside him one day, play together, and we are realising that dream,” the Botafogo striker said at a press conference.
Luiz Henrique, who is making his debut in a call-up with the senior national team, pointed out that he is “taking advantage of every second” to learn from the Real Madrid striker and other big names in the 'Selecao', such as “Paqueta, Rodrygo, Danilo and Marquinhos, among others”.
In fact, he revealed that Vinicius and Neymar, still out after tearing the cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee in October last year, are his two great role models.
“They are extraordinary guys playing football, they are excellent players. I have been very inspired by Vinicius Junior and Neymar, both are examples for me,” said the former Real Betis player.
About Ecuador, he warned that they have “a very good team, with a very good attack”. “But we know that our team has incredible qualities, so we will do everything to take away that point of excellence and hit them in their weak point,” he explained.
Asked about returning to Europe, Luiz Henrique said that “now” he is only focused on the national team and Botafogo, with whom he wants to “give the best” of himself. “In the future, we can think about that (playing for a European team again), but now I'm focused on Brazil,” he stressed.
