Unai Simon thinks it's normal that Nico Williams is being talked about so much during this transfer window. The goalkeeper gave an interview to 'Radio Nacional Espanola' from the national team's Euro camp and spoke about the form of his compatriot and Athletic teammate.
In fact, he single-handedly mentioned Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal as examples of supposed suitors for the winger.
"Well, honestly, it's normal to hear all these rumours that Nico could go to Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, among others. In the end, it is normal because he is a player who, right now, I think could play and compete in any team in the world, because of the growth he has had and because he is very decisive in many situations," he argued.
"It's normal to talk about it and he knows it, he knows he's very good and it's normal to talk about these things. So far, he is an Athletic player and the truth is that I really enjoy when I see him defending the Athletic shirt.
"I see him as a lad who has very clear ideas beyond talking about things, about hoaxes, about offers because many times the press in the summer is what they do, they talk about the market," he added. "Nico has a contract until 2027, he is an Athletic player and is happy at home and I see him with clear ideas," he said.
