Ligue 1 teams for the 2023/24 season

Auxerre, Ajaccio, Troyes and Angers were relegated to Ligue 2 for the 2023/24 season and made way for Le Havre and Metz in Ligue 1.
Up to five French teams will play in European competitions in the 2023/24 campaign. Paris Saint-Germain and Lens will play in the Champions League next season as they reached the top four in the table.
Marseille have qualified for the Europa League while Rennes will play in the Conference League. Meanwhile, Lille will fight for a ticket to the Conference League in the qualifiers after finishing fifth in the French league.
The French elite championship, which this year sees a reduction in the number of participants, starts on 12th August 2023.
The French Ligue 1 ends, according to the French football federation, on Saturday 18th May 2024.
